Jazz joint

17 October 2007

There’s are things distinctly authentic to all good jazz joints. The mood is set, the lights are low, the people are eager for good music and most of the time the jazz band is right-there-in-your-face: the whole set-up always makes it quite thrilling to watch and listen. Under the recommendation of my flatmate, I checked out the Doxas Bros. with Phil Dwyer at DièzeOnze on St-denis. Boy was he right, these guys were impressive. The brothers played with Ben Charest on that Triplette de Belleville soundtrack and Dwyer is an internationally renown canadian saxamophone jazz player. If ever you see these names on a jazz flyer, do not hesitate to go see the show for you will be amazed. They seriously bring down the house.
